Following the Government’s announcement to lift all restrictions in England on 19th July 2021, we think it is important for you to know what we are continuing to do in order to ensure your stay with us is both safe and pleasurable.

  • We will continue to use our non-contact hand sanitiser on entry to the building in our Conservatory with a second one just before entering our Dining Room.
  • We will continue with our contact less check in and check out system. A registration form will be emailed to you prior to your arrival and you will be asked to settle your account at least 24 hours prior to your arrival by card over the telephone or by authorising us to use the card we have stored for you on our system.. We have limited the time for check in strictly between 2pm and 5pm. On arrival there will be a sealed bag with your keys and payment receipt and you will be greeted with social distancing in mind and directed to your room. If assistance with luggage is required, you will need to bring it into the Hotel from your car and we will bring it for you and leave it outside your room. This service can also be offered on the reverse on check out. On check out, which is up to 10am, you will be required to replace the keys into the bag, ring the bell at the bottom of the stairs and leave the keys on the table in the Hallway. One of us will acknowledge your departure. The keys will then be sanitised and prepared for the next use.
  • We will not be able to offer our courtesy transport service from Shanklin Station for the foreseeable future. Should you need a taxi on departure please let us know the night before and we will arrange it for you. On arrival to Shanklin you will find a Taxi rank outside the station to bring you to the Hotel. Please note a rail replacement service is currently in operation from Ryde to Shanklin whilst the train line continues to be upgraded.
  • The Dining room continues to be socially distanced and some tables have not be replaced. You will have your own table throughout your stay. We plan to continue with only around 65% occupancy.
  • The Bar will continue to be only open for table service for the foreseeable future, however, drinks can be served to guests in the public areas and gardens as well as at your table at Dinner time if you have elected to have a meal with us. Please ring the bell above the IN/OUT Board for service. A cashless system will be in operation with the account being settled by card prior to departure. The public toilet in the Bar area will not be in use and we will ask you to use your own toilet in your bedroom at all times.
  • We are now operating our Breakfast Buffet but Guests MUST wear face coverings when coming to take food from this area and social distancing MUST be observed at all times. Breakfast will not need to be pre-ordered but we would ask for your patience at busy times.
  • We will continue to wear face masks in certain circumstances publicly and when cleaning the bedrooms. It is no longer a legal requirement for Guests to wear face coverings around the building but personal choice. However, it is the Hotel’s policy for Guests to wear them at our Breakfast Buffet as previously stated above.
  • We will maintain our usual high standards of housekeeping as well as extra cleaning to all high traffic contact areas regularly throughout the day.
  • The Guest Lounge and Conservatory will be open with social distancing in place. We have not replaced the cushions in the Conservatory or our Guest Book in the Lounge. Should you wish to make comments, perhaps consider writing us a review on Trip Advisor or Google. We would ask you please to respect other guests’ space in these areas, particularly in the Guest Lounge where it may be necessary to limit the usage to one family or group at a time.
  • The Terrace and Garden area will be open, with the patio furniture moved to allow for social distancing. Cushions will not be available and there will be No Smoking in this area. A designated smoking area is available at the other side of the Garden by our bench.
  • A limited amount of Information leaflets and maps have been put back into the Conservatory. Please ask should you need something that you do not see or we might be able to help you with. Please recycle all leaflets once used, DO NOT replace them into the rack.
  • When entering the Hotel, we would ask you to remove any walking shoes or boots or where possible leave them in your car.
  • The NHS App is still on the entry door and we encourage all guests who can to download it. This is no longer a legal requirement, however, formal registration is.
  • Small dogs (maximum size of a Westie) are still welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times, especially on the staircase. They must be able to be left in the bedroom whilst their ‘Humans’ take their meals together and are only permitted in the Conservatory and Gardens. Please note we do not serve couples individually at mealtimes.
  • Children over 10 years are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times whilst maintaining social distancing and remaining seated at meal times.
  • You will continue to find some changes in the bedrooms. We have not yet replaced some loose items such as runners and cushions. We have left the spare pillows and blanket in the room but these have been security taped in a zipped bag so we know if they have been used and therefore must be cleaned. The Guest Information Book is still available in the bedroom.
  • The TV remote is no longer in a bag but is thoroughly sanitised between stays.
  • All bedrooms will receive daily housekeeping but if this is not required the ‘Do not Disturb’ should be used. In that case please let us know if there is anything you need. We will not be touching or moving any of your clothing or personal possessions so we will service what we can. Please try to use the cupboards and wardrobes as much as possible to assist with housekeeping.  
  • Please make sure on day of departure you are out of your room no later than 10am

Finally, if you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive and are in an isolation period and are due to stay with us, we would ask you, please do not travel.

However, should you experience any symptoms whilst staying with us you MUST inform us immediately and you and your entire party MUST self-isolate straight away. We will facilitate food and beverages for you whilst you request a test. Charges may apply. This can be done by calling 119 or going onto the website You will need to use our postcode which is PO37 6EX to get a test on the Island and the nearest site is at Newclose County Cricket Ground. Blackwater Road. Newport. PO30 3BD. Full details of everything you need to know are in the Guest Information Book. Please do not arrange for a test to be sent here by post. If the test proves positive, we will assist you with your travel back to the mainland immediately. If the result is negative your holiday can continue as before. Please be aware there will not be any refund for any part of your holiday not taken.

Please note that our standard Terms & Conditions are in operation. We therefore are recommending to all guests that they take out appropriate Insurance that covers Covid 19.
