Following the latest Government advice, we are now open for business, therefore, we thought it was necessary to let you know what we have put in place to ensure your stay with us is both safe and pleasurable. This of course will be updated on a regular basis in line with new Government guidelines and regulations and ever-changing information that becomes available to us.

  • We have installed a non-contact hand sanitiser on entry to the building in our Conservatory with a second one just before entering our Dining Room.
  • We have introduced a contact less check in and check out system. A registration form will be emailed to you prior to your arrival and you will be asked to settle your account at least 24 hours prior to your arrival by card over the telephone. We have limited the time for check in strictly between 2pm and 5pm. On arrival there will be a sealed bag with your keys and payment receipt and you will be greeted with social distancing in mind and directed to your room. If assistance with luggage is required, you will need to bring it into the Hotel from your car and we will bring it to your room for you and leave it outside your room. This service can also be offered on the reverse on check out. On check out, which is up to 10am, you will be required to replace the keys into the bag, ring the bell at the bottom of the stairs and leave the keys on the table in the Hallway. One of us will acknowledge your departure from a distance. The keys will then be sanitised and prepared for next use.
  • We will not be able to offer our courtesy transport service from Shanklin Station for the foreseeable future. Should you need a taxi on departure please let us know the night before and we will arrange it for you. On arrival to Shanklin you will find a Taxi rank outside the station to bring you to the Hotel.
  • The Dining room has been socially distanced and some tables have been removed. You will have your own table throughout your stay. We only plan to have 60% occupancy in order to apply social distancing and guarantee high standards of service and cleanliness. We hope that none of our measures will impact negatively on your stay with us.
  • The Bar will only be open and available during Dinner for table service only. A cashless system will be in operation with the account being settled by card prior to departure. The public toilet in the Bar area will not be in use and we will ask you to use your own toilet in your bedroom at all times.
  • Breakfast and Dinner for those on Half Board or subject to availability, have opted in to have an ad-hoc meal with us, will all be table served by staff wearing masks/ visor and gloves as appropriate. We have taken away our Breakfast Buffet but all items will still be available and can be ordered from your table. We will ask where possible for drinks for Dinner to be pre-ordered with your meal selection at Breakfast time. Breakfast will not need to be pre-ordered but we would ask for your patience at busy times.
  • We will be wearing masks/Visors publicly and when cleaning the bedrooms. Guests must wear face coverings whilst moving around the building and when entering the Dining Room. They may be removed when consuming food and drink but must be put back on when they are ready to leave their table.
  • We will maintain our usual high standards of housekeeping as well as extra cleaning to all high traffic contact areas regularly throughout the day.
  • The Guest Lounge and Conservatory will be open with social distancing in place. We have removed the cushions from the Conservatory and our Guest Book from the Lounge. Should you wish to make comments consider writing us a review on Trip Advisor or other such review sites. We would ask you please to respect other guests’ space in these areas, particularly in the Guest Lounge where it will be necessary to limit the usage to one family or group at a time. The Bar area will be closed.
  • The Terrace and Garden area will also be open, with the patio furniture moved to allow for social distancing and will be disinfected regularly. Cushions will not be available and there will be No Smoking in this area. We have made a new designated smoking area at the other side of the Garden by our bench.
  • Information leaflets, maps and business cards have been removed from the rooms and Conservatory. Please ask should you need something as we do still have them available. We have also removed the umbrellas, walking sticks and wheelchair from the Conservatory.
  • When entering the Hotel, we would ask you to remove any walking shoes or boots or where possible leave them in your car. Regular shoes and sandals are acceptable. The new NHS App is on the entry door and we encourage all guests who can to download it and use it every time they enter our building
  • Small dogs (maximum size of a Westie) are still welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times, especially on the staircase. They must be able to be left in the bedroom whilst taking meals and are only permitted in the Conservatory and Gardens.
  • Children over 10 years are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times whilst maintaining social distancing.
  • You will find some changes in the bedrooms. We have removed some items – hair dryer, tissues, bed runners. We have left the spare pillows and blanket in the room but these have been security taped in a zipped bag so we know if they have been used and therefore must be cleaned. The Guest Information Book is also still available in the room but does not contain any loose leaflets as these cannot be sanitised. Any extra information can be requested from us. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide any iron and ironing boards or laundry facilities.
  • You will find that your TV remote control is now in a plastic bag. It should remain in the bag throughout your stay. We promise it does work! This will be sanitised/changed on departure.
  • All bedrooms will still receive daily housekeeping but if this is not required the ‘Do not Disturb’ should be used. In that case please let us know if there is anything you need. We will not be touching or moving any of your clothing or personal possessions so we will service what we can. Please try to use the cupboards and wardrobes as much as possible to assist with housekeeping.  A copy of our cleaning methods for both a ‘stay on’ or a ‘departure’ is available on request. We will be leaving at least 24 hours between guests for the room to air and operating a ‘No Entry’ System once the room is complete. Please make sure on day of departure you are out of your room by 10am at the latest to help us facilitate this.

Finally, if you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and are due to stay with us we would ask you, please do not travel.

However, should you experience any symptoms whilst staying with us you MUST inform us immediately and you and your entire party MUST self-isolate straight away.
